Anton Adasinskiy (Creator and Director)
Born 1959 in Siberia and raised in Leningrad, Anton Adasinskiy has been involved in avantgarde theatre research for the last 21 years. Finished music school classes for guitar and trumpet and became famous in the 80s as member of rock group Avia in St. Petersburg and as a movie screen writer. Five years work with Slava Polunin's theatre for clowns, Licedei. Founded his own studio in 1998, doing "shocking provocation experiments" with his students, from which he formed DEREVO. H still teaches the DEREVO method of theatre in his "school on wheels".
Besides his work with DEREVO, Anton Adasinskiy plays the character of Drosselmeier in the annual staging of The Nutcracker with the Kirov Ballett at the Mariniskiy Theatre in St. Petersburg, a role he first took on in February 2000. The production has been seen on a number of famous stages around the world.
Elena Iarovaia (Performer)
Born 1964 in a little village near the Soviet-Chinese border; raised travelling through various towns in Siberia and Kamchatka; Classical ballet (aged 6 to 11), drawing school and Hatha Yoga. Finished Technical University with a work on "Optimisation of chemical process and apparatus." Professional dreamer, writes ideas for theatre projects, screen plays. First art directing job in 1997, founding member of DEREVO, two solo performances.
