Work Sample
Grant Avenue - West Coast Percussion Tour is a newly curated program of musical compositions by leading Hong Kong ensemble Toolbox Percussion that will premiere at this year's Festival. The performance focuses on music created by composers whose work is influenced by their exposure to California and its coastline. The occasion also provides Toolbox Percussion with the opportunity to collaborate with Jack van Geem, former principal percussionist of San Francisco Symphony.

Toolbox Percussion has been driving percussive arts programming in Hong Kong since 2012, curating ambitious music projects and challenging the best in the field whilst also continually nurturing new musical talent in innovative ways. The company works to make new music happen by commissioning, developing, collaborating, professional training, performing, recording and touring contemporary performances. The acclaimed Toolbox Percussion Trilogy, spread over a time span of 3-year (from 2015-2017), has been a proven success in creating cutting-edge and innovative programmes that challenged local artists, enhanced cultural exchange by collaborating with world-class musicians and developed a series of outreach and professional educational activities
Louis Siu (Artistic Director)
Louis Siu is the Founder of Toolbox Percussion, as well as Creative Director for MUSE3. Siu served as Principal Percussionist of the Macao Orchestra and was one of the founding members of the Hong Kong New Music Ensemble. His orchestral appearances include concerts and tour with the Hong Kong Philharmonic, Hong Kong Sinfonietta, Qatar Philharmonic, Pacific Music Festival, Aspen Music Festival, Asian Youth Orchestra, Gustav Mahler Orchestra, and the Busan Maru International Music Festival, he was an ExxonMobil New Vision Artist at the 40th Hong Kong Arts Festival.
