The Amber will spotlight the stylistic harmonies that they have become known for, as they present material from their eponymous EP such as: Heavy, Through Indigo and Sinner. Unreleased material, such as Satellite and Always Be, will complement these California indie roots classics. New songs currently taking shape in the studio - will make their debut at the SFIAF. The Amber plans to perform with stripped down instrumentation such as piano and acoustic guitar, and will be joined by special guests Meryl Theo Press and Julay Brooks, for parts of the set. The Amber is excited to be performing at the 2017 San Francisco International Arts Festival.

The Amber was formed in Los Angeles in 2012 as a harmony-forward, California roots project by Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Libby Lavella. Her collaboration with vocalist Ryland Shelton has cultivated a complex, modern interpretation of harmony, with a styled vintage feel – a new color in the landscape of contemporary music. Surrounding the release of their eponymous EP in 2014 and since, The Amber has played some of the most exciting venues and festivals for independent music in America (House of Blues LA, Hotel Utah SF, The Hotel Café, Rockwood Music Hall). With a new recording on the horizon, their ability to incorporate new elements to their sound is one of their defining characteristics.
