VooDoo Cabaret

Saturday May 27 Only

Come to The Voodoo Cabaret dance party and live show to Rise Above Racism by dancing and singing together.  This is a show where audience participation is welcomed.  We will explore group ritual, sing songs, dance and laugh. We will create our very own village party for the evening.
Artists featured  this evening will be Percussionist, Enrique Padilla, KQWSTDJ and Gisela Tangui, founder of The Voodoo Cabaret.
Sunday June 4

Instead of the traditional songs of the Orishas and Loas of Santeria and Voudou, The Voodoo Cabaret World Music celebrates the Spirits of the Diaspora with original songs. Gisela Tangui created this project 10 years ago in San Francisco and has taken the show to Harlem and the East Village in New York City. The eclectic sound is Funk, Rock, Caribbean, Soulful, and with a lot of great Percussion. Audiences say The Voodoo Cabaret “brings down the spirits”.

This installation of the The Voodoo Cabaret celebrates the diversity of music and religious icons of the Diaspora. This evening brings hymns celebrating the Black Madonna, songs of the Underground Railroad and original songs dedicated to the Orishas and Loas of Santeria and Voudou interwoven with spoken word and storytelling.

Gisela Tangui and the Voodoo Cabaret sing about African spirits. All of her shows are intuitive and strictly organically magical. The band offers a live music and a ritual-like type of recreation for your mind, body, and soul. Bringing music, dance, theatre, and spirituality together, while tapping into Latina heritage and diaspora ancestry: Gisela Tangui and the Voodoo Cabaret is an eclectic and distinctive additive into the underground music scene.

Gisela gives a twist of magic on stage with a powerful and assertive appeal. The echoes on stage make you feel the energy of nature all around you. Existing and enlightened atoms spark the crowd with serotonin! Gisela Tangui and the Voodoo Cabaret will feed your musical senses and mix it into a pot of voodoo cabaret healing.
