This workshop will introduce interested community members to the Wandering Ensemble's open approaches to movement, sound-making, story-telling, and group improvisation. Participants can then choose to join the ensemble for one or more of the performances if they'd like. There will be additional coaching offered for an hour before each show.

Panel Discussion – “Living in the Heart of Empire” brings together panelists Francisco Franco, Max Martilla, Safi Kolozsvari Regalado, and Vida Kuang, with moderator Fernando Marti. Featured artwork is by Max Martilla. The discussion explores how art comments on, reflects, and gives voice to immigrant diasporic communities amid the uncertainties of living in the heart of empire. Artist Social Media is represented by Instagram accounts for Max, Francisco, Vida, and Nando. Artist Biographies: Francisco Franco blends dark, human themes with playful visuals to evoke healing and resilience; Max Martilla examines urban folklore through a diverse range of media; Safi Kolozsvari Regalado creates work fueled by satire and addresses cultural injustice; Vida Kuang is a muralist and visual storyteller dedicated to social justice; and Fernando Marti bridges Latinx ancestral traditions with liberatory futurism.

An exploration into the world of object-based performance, the artists start with simple household objects and bring them to life. Instead of constructing puppets, "found object" puppetry channels the fantastical potential within familiar items on a tabletop.
