In the Name of the Son
In the Name of the Son (INOTS) is a captivating solo play starring Shaun Blaney that chronicles the extraordinary life of Gerry Conlon (of the Guildford Four) following his release from prison in 1989. Conlon’s story becomes a metaphor for Northern Ireland’s struggle to escape the trauma of the Troubles. The play charts his rollercoaster of newfound freedom—receiving a major financial settlement, mingling with celebrities like Johnny Depp and Daniel Day Lewis—while battling guilt and addiction in private. Ultimately, Conlon finds redemption in his global advocacy against injustices similar to his own.
