IN DIASPORA: I.D. for the New Majority
San Francisco International Arts Festival is planning to move its annual multi-disciplinary performing arts program to San Francisco State University starting in June 2023. The Festival dates are tentatively set for June 8 – 18, with a load-in beginning on Monday June 5.
The move is a potentially transcendent one if the Festival can align its programming with the curriculum and other elements and activities at the University’s Holloway campus.
On November 15, 2021 SFIAF met with representatives of over 50 Bay Area based arts ensembles to discuss the merits of moving to SFSU, along with programming ideas and some of the practical and logistical considerations.
