JupiterThe Jupiter Project was composed by Sameer Gupta in 2024. The suite is for a quintet and features Henry Hung, Prasant Radhakrishnan, Marcus Stephens, and Kai Eckhardt. Jupiter takes listeners on a journey of loss, peace, discovery, and healing—encouraging the pursuit of self-discovery through a meditative blend of dark and light.
Artist Biographies
Sameer Gupta
Sameer Gupta is a percussionist and composer whose musical expression draws on vibrations left in the ether (Akashic Records), traversing new soundscapes and embracing Spiritual Jazz, Ambient Rock, Indian Classical, and Electronic Music. He has performed at major festivals and concert halls worldwide, collaborating with artists such as Zakir Hussain, Herbie Hancock, and Marcus Miller. Equally adept at tabla, drum set, and world percussion, Gupta’s mission is to blend musical traditions and push the boundaries of improvisation and global fusion.
