KoMaGa TrioIn 2019, the band leader/ harpist Motoshi Kosako teamed up with Michael Manring, who is one of the most innovative electric bassist both in style and technique, and Chris Garcia, who is one of the most accomplished percussionists in incredible diversity covering from rock to East Indian traditional music.
BiographiesMotoshi Kosako (bandleader, harpist, composer)
Motoshi Kosako, self-taught harpist, former guitarist in Tokyo, moved to California in 1997, became the principal harpist of Stockton Symphony (2006-2010) and won the second place in Lyon&Healy Jazz&Pop Harp Competition 2007.He internationally tours for performances as solo or in ensembles with eminent jazz musicians.
Michael Manring (Electric Fretless Bass, Composer)
Hailed by many as the world’s leading solo bassist, Michael Manring has been pushing back the boundaries of what’s possible on the bass guitar for over three decades. While his technical skill and innovations always make an impression, it is his ability to communicate on a profound emotional level that most touches listeners.
Christoper Garica (Tabla, Percussion, Composer)
A native of (EAST)Los Angeles, Christopher is a critically acclaimed performer, improviser, composer, and educator who has made a career with over 1200 performances in 28 countries on 5 continents, either on Western drumset, percussion of North and South India, percussion of indigenous Mexico, Meso America or his own unique percussion configuration called EL MONSTRO which contains instruments from all of the above all within arms reach.
