Join the original cast for the premiere staged reading and performance of the first season of The Lavender Files: an afrofuturistic film noir radio drama/fiction podcast. Lavender Black runs an illegal privacy and anti-surveillance store in Baytown, Independent California. When their investigation of a disappeared customer leads them to femme fatale Veronica and her missing ex, Lavender discovers how people disappear when privacy is dead and what family will do to get you back.

Rosewater Vigilante

Rosewater Vigilante is an afrofuturist, writer, podcaster, and rumored witch living in Oakland. The Lavender Files is a speculative fiction film-noir radio drama about how to disappear when privacy is dead, and what family will do to get you back. In 2018, Rosewater workshopped The Lavender Files as a resident artist with SAFEhouse for the Performing Arts, staged live readings as part of the 21st annual National Queer Arts Festival, and they will debut the first season of The Lavender Files at the San Francisco International Arts Festival in May 2020 with the support of the Stanford Alumni Arts Grant.

Biographies

Rosewater Vigilante (Writer/Producer)
Rosewater Vigilante is an afrofuturist, writer, podcaster, and rumored witch living in Oakland. The Lavender Files is a speculative fiction film-noir radio drama about how to disappear when privacy is dead, and what family will do to get you back. In 2018, Rosewater workshopped The Lavender Files as a resident artist with SAFEhouse for the Performing Arts, staged live readings as part of the 21st annual National Queer Arts Festival, and they will debut the first season of The Lavender Files at the San Francisco International Arts Festival in May 2020 with the support of the Stanford Alumni Arts Grant.

Lisa Evans (Lavender Black)
Lisa Evans (they/them) is a black non-binary performance artist, producer, facilitator and cultural worker based out of Oakland, CA. Lisa is the co-founder of the #BreakingtheBinary Project, an initiative that supported theater arts organizations across the United States in creating sustainable practices for TGNCNB2-S (trans, gender non-conforming, non-binary, Two Spirit) inclusion. Their project "Confronting The Ghost of Willie Lynch: An Exorcism in Six Parts" a site specific haunted house inspired theatre piece was presented as a part of the 2019 National Queers Arts Festival.

Cairo Person (Veronica)
Cairo started off as a local reporter after graduating from college. She developed her skills as a broadcaster but eventually decided to dive into the world of voice over. Her voice over career started when one of her producer friends asked her to voice a project. Soon thereafter, Cairo was fully engaged in the voice over world. Since taking VO and acting classes in Los Angeles and San Francisco, Cairo's skills have allowed her to lend her voice to a variety of projects.
