The Ghost of Veronica Margaret & Company
Veronica Margaret is a wandering phantom trapped in the body of a 27-year-old San Franciscan woman. She spends her days haunting local coffee shops and pubs, writing songs for spirits gone by, and farming whimsy in her audiences. Her folk music is inspired by poems, literature, nature, and the fanciful array of stories and characters that live inside her head. For the first time in a decade, she is releasing a full album with the talents of Jamie Wilson, Aaron Hammerman, Peter Maund, and Joseph Ma.
Artist Biographies
Veronica Margaret
Veronica Margaret is the writer, rhythm guitarist, and lead vocalist. She first began writing songs at the age of 5 about thrilling topics like bluebirds, rocket ships, and Santa Clause. Twenty two years later, Maund has still held onto her craft as a poet and lyricist. She performs regularly at Harlan Records every second Sunday, and at Al’s Attire every first Sunday.
Joseph Ma
Joseph Ma is a talented bassist who once performed with Margaret's father and has remained a close family friend ever since. Joseph has been performing music for decades and currently plays in the band Edwin and the Blue Wings. His smooth bass lines have audiences tapping their feet and singing along like there's no tomorrow.
Jamie Wilson
Guitarist Jamie Wilson plays guitar like it's an extension of himself. His style of old blues, folk, and classic rock blend seamlessly with the band. Veronica and Jamie have played together for over a decade and also perform with songwriter and activist, Pete Kronowitt, in their folk trio, The Everyday Items.
Aaron Hammerman
Aaron Hammerman specializes in floor-stomping barrelhouse, old-time blues and roots piano. Known primarily for his work with the bay area-based Deep Basement Shakers, Aaron channels the spirit of exciting but oft-overlooked early 20th century regional blues styles. Expect boogies, stomps, rags, rumbas, breakdowns, shakedowns and more.
