Circlesinging w/MOTION

Singing with MOTION is an interactive a cappella experience where the audience becomes part of the performance. Using only the human voice, performers create rich harmonies, rhythms, and soundscapes—no instruments, just pure vocal power. Through live engagement, call-and-response moments, and improvisation, each performance becomes unique, shaped by the energy and participation of the crowd.

MOTION

In 2021, Bobby McFerrin asked David Worm to bring together singers to play and improvise together. Bryan Dyer, David Worm and Destani Wolf have joined Bobby on stage, in the studio, creating songs in the moment, facilitating Circle singing, harmonizing and connecting their intuitive voices weekly for over 4 years as the band MOTION. They continue to perform and create vocal community space every Monday at Freight and Salvage in Berkeley.

Artist Biographies

David Worm

In 1984 David decided to dedicate his musical focus to singing and in 1985 he made that commitment complete by joining the Bay Area vocal groups, Jazz Mouth and Vocal Front. In 1989, David became a member of  Bobby McFerrin’s Voicestra, which toured the US, Europe, and the Orient.  David has remained a regular performer with Mcferrin, being featured on recordings, including his most recent vocal album Vocabularies. David is also one of the original founding members of SoVoSo,  an internationally acclaimed  vocal ensemble, which has released 6 albums and tours worldwide.

Destani Wolf

Berkeley, California-raised vocalist Destani Wolf has forged her own path with a genre-defying soulful sound, impeccable vocal prowess, and authentic lyrics. From performing at 15 at the iconic Great American Music Hall, to recording on over 40 albums, to touring the world as the lead vocalist of Cirque du Soleil’s “BAZZAR,” and to being a current member of virtuoso Bobby McFerrin’s MOTION, she has dedicated her career to connecting hearts through music and the power of her voice. She believes singing is our birthright—and the purest path toward peace, healing, and connection to ourselves and our community.

Bryan Dyer

Bryan Dyer is a musician with more than 30 years of professional experience. He’s a versatile multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and producer who performs many styles of music, from classical and avant-garde to rock, jazz, and blues. Music has taken Bryan around the world to perform in countries including Japan, Switzerland, Indonesia, and across Africa, as well as alongside notable artists such as Huey Lewis and The News, Michael McDonald, and Carlos Santana. Groups he currently performs with include SoVoSo, FRO, Chelle! and Friends, Bobby McFerrin & MOTION, Crosspulse with Keith Terry, and Linda Tillery and the Cultural Heritage Choir.
