Production DetailsMeeting #7
Meeting #7 is a one-woman show created and performed by dance theater artist Annie Kahane, with animated projections by filmmaker and graphic designer Ethan Alesch. In Meeting #7, an orientation-leader welcomes the audience to a satirical powerpoint presentation, as if they are extraterrestrials who have just arrived on planet earth.
There will be an onstage conversation with the artist following the performance on Saturday June 17.Alive & Well Productions / Annie Kahane
Since 2014, Alive & Well Productions has created and presented six long-form dance theater projects in San Francisco and more recently in Los Angeles. Alive & Well has also shared works at festivals and showcases around the SF Bay Area including Dance Mission Theater's Choreographer's showcase and PUSHfest at ODC Theater. In 2021, the group facilitated a 6 month public ritual project that gathered dancers and non-dancers from all over the world to perform a public movement ritual in response to mass shootings. The title "Meeting #7" means to parody a breakout room at a corporate conference and is also a tongue-in-cheek reference to the fact that this work marks Alive & Well Productions' seventh evening-length work.
Ethan Alesch is a filmmaker, multidisciplinary artist, and media designer based in Barcelona who has dedicated over twenty-five years to animation, art, media, 3D design, and theater. Before Spain, home base was Northern California, where he designed hundreds of commercial events, broadcasts, and theatrical projects that have taken place around the world. Today he makes independent animated films, and continue to design commercial media.
