My Heart in Human Form (我心人形)

My Heart in Human Form (我心人形) is a live music, dance, and physical theater exploration of complicated relationships with the self-expressed through physical intimacy, tension, and athletic and dynamic movement and partnering. Set in a room with a ruby-carpeted floor and filament bulbs, our dancers share their stories of triumph and devastation through vignettes in this intimate setting. Asking out audience to sit, lounge, or move about the room, the eye of our audience is a wandering and interactive one with the dancers, musicians, and space.

Concept o4

Based out of San Francisco, California, Co4 was founded in 2014 by Natasha Adorlee. Our mission from the beginning remains dedicated to making dance programming more accessible to people through the use of technology and innovation. Our main focuses of creation have been immersive performance and dance filmmaking. In 2016 and 2017, we presented evening-length works at Little Boxes Theater and Toto in San Francisco, CA to sold-out audiences for each performance. For guests who could not be present, or afford a traditional admission ticket, we broadcast our last performance in each run on a live streaming platform for free. We have been involved in making over 10 dance films since the creation of the company. In 2017, we took the creative helm for the film “Take Your Time”, which became an official selection of the Mill Valley Film Festival and the recipient of six awards including "Best Short" by the San Francisco Dance Film Festival, Red Rock Film Festival, and Valley Film Festival amongst other international selections and screenings. With San Francisco as our backdrop, we hope to continue finding ways to bridge the gap between dance, an ephemeral and beautiful form, with technology in order to continue to expose it to new audiences and more relatable to daily life. We are committed to seeking out audiences who wouldn’t normally attend dance shows and trying to reach them to cultivate a new perspective on what dance performance can be.
