What Had Happened Was...Follow a young, orphaned African American woman as she wades through emptiness, disrespect, and anxiety toward a joyous future. Will she ever get there, and how the heck is she going to do it? This supremacy parasite latches on and feeds on us. That’s why this country is so anxious and depressed. But do you know what this parasite’s weakness is? Your Joy! Join US in the U.S. this Juneteenth as we shed Black power, Black strength and oppression and instead trade it in for Joy! Featuring an original script, music, and choreography, come see “What Had Happened Was…” this summer. Join the joyous rebellion!
There will be an onstage conversation with the artists following the performance on Friday June 16.
