Cocktails & Chit-ChatThe Cocktails & Chit-Chat Series started online in 2020. It is a great opportunity to present the work of little-known composers. For example: Antonia Bembo's Ercole Amante, Chevalier Saint Georges's L'Amant Anonyme, Francesca Caccini's La Liberazione di Ruggiero. Ars Minerva is excited to share rare pieces by these unfairly neglected composers and to engage in a conversation about their work and careers. This in-person version of the series will include a live selection of past episodes, future projects and novelties - including a project highlighting castrato Farinelli.
Ars MinervaArs Minerva is a San Francisco-based performing arts organization created in 2013 by Céline Ricci. Its mission is to engage new audiences for classical music through innovative productions of Baroque operas. Ars Minerva is proud to bring forgotten music back to life, in collaboration with artists in the San Francisco Bay Area. Reviving Baroque operas is a rare and captivating experience, which we are happy to share with the diverse local community. Since its inception, Ars Minerva has presented the modern world premieres of five long-forgotten Venetian operas in San Francisco. In November 2021, Ars Minerva will bring to the stage Messalina, an opera composed by Carlo Pallavicino in 1676 at ODC Theater.
