Speakeasy Storyteller SeriesThe Speakeasy program provides inter-generational and multi-cultural stories for the purpose of connecting our common experiences. Performers have included artists, medical doctors, carpenters, jazz singers, business women, tech workers and parents.
Artists who have perfomed with SPEAKEASY include Corey Rosen, JP Frary, Michelle Jacques, Abdul Kenyatta, Cathy Zhao, Emily Nathan, Claire Hennessey, Kirk Pappas, Tony Aldarondo, Sereni Weerasekera, Kay Demartini and many more.
Speakeasy Storytellers SeriesThe Speakeasy Storyteller Series was founded in 2002 by poet and storyteller Abdul Kenyatta as a forum for storytellers celebrating the art and craft of story-making. The Speakeasy Storytellers promote and encourage participation in storytelling and storytellers in the Bay Area - in a supportive atmosphere. The performance at the Festival features a multi-generational and multi-cultural line up of storytellers and poets. The Speakeasy Storytellers provide workshops and performances in storytelling and community events.
